We had a terrific day with Marco this June. He picked us up in front of the people mover station at Tronchetto on the west side of Venice and we had a nice, albeit somewhat quiet ride into the hills of the Veneto. Marco surprised us with a stop at a Fattoria or cheese “factory” for a quick snack - what a great treat. Our first winery was Col Vettoraz in Valdobbiadene. We tasted a number of great prosecco, then walked through the vineyard and up a trail overlooking the Cartizze hill- the most prized soil for prosecco. After that was a delicious lunch in the quaint hill town of Combai (and more prosecco). To wrap up the afternoon, we stopped at a prosecco cooperative, and were able to taste a number of prosecci from different producers in the area. My only criticism of the entire day would have been to stop at another winery instead of the coop, but we were able to taste wines from 5 different wineries which was certainly an advantage. Overall, a great day tasting prosecco and would highly recommend a tour with Marco.
